How to troubleshoot an Anycubic Kobra local connection and camera
Printer Tools connects to supported Anycubic Kobra printers through the MQTT broker running on the printer once LAN mode is enabled. Camera behavior then depends on the exact Kobra family: Kobra 3 and S1 models use a local FLV feed, Kobra X uses RTSP, and the Kobra 2 series does not expose a local camera.
Troubleshooting begins with the model and LAN connection, not with a camera URL copied from another Anycubic printer.
Confirm the supported model
Check the live Anycubic compatibility page before changing settings. Printer Tools covers supported Kobra FDM models, not Anycubic resin printers. Similar product names do not imply the same local protocol.
The camera difference is important. No app setting can create a local feed on a Kobra 2 model that does not expose one. Conversely, Kobra X provides its RTSP information through the local printer session, so it should not be added as an unrelated external camera.
Enable LAN mode on the printer
The local MQTT broker becomes available through the printer’s LAN workflow. Enable LAN mode using the controls and instructions for the exact model and firmware. Printer Tools does not need an Anycubic Cloud account for this connection.
After changing the mode, allow the printer to return to an idle network state. Confirm the phone and printer can reach each other on the same routed LAN.
Check discovery and broker credentials
Printer Tools retrieves the local broker details during setup. If discovery fails, verify the current printer IP, disable guest-network isolation for the test and make sure a VPN is not replacing the route to the LAN.
Do not guess MQTT credentials or publish them in a support message. Re-run the supported setup flow after the printer and app are both on the correct network.
Separate telemetry from camera behavior
If temperatures, state and progress update, the MQTT path is working. A camera-only failure should be diagnosed according to the model:
- Kobra 3 and S1 families use their local FLV feed;
- Kobra X uses the RTSP stream communicated by its local session;
- Kobra 2 has no supported local camera feed.
Do not replace the saved printer merely because the model has no camera capability. The dashboard and compatible controls can still work.
Understand current file limitations
File browsing is not currently available for the Anycubic integration. A missing files view is therefore not evidence of a failed MQTT connection. Use the current compatibility matrix to separate unavailable features from broken ones.
Printer Tools can show status and compatible job controls from the local broker, plus ACE information where the printer reports it.
Restore a connection after a network change
Compare the saved and current IP addresses, then create a DHCP reservation once the printer works. If a router places the printer in an IoT VLAN, allow only the local traffic needed from the device running Printer Tools rather than exposing the broker to the internet.

Frequently asked questions
Does Printer Tools need Anycubic Cloud?
No. It uses the MQTT broker exposed locally when LAN mode is enabled.
Why does my Kobra 2 show no camera?
The Kobra 2 series does not expose the supported local camera feed available on Kobra 3, S1 or Kobra X.
Should I enter an RTSP URL for Kobra X?
No. Printer Tools obtains the native Kobra X camera endpoint from the printer session.
Can I browse files on the printer?
Not through the current Anycubic integration. That limitation does not mean the printer is offline.
