Turn your WLED-flashed LED strips on or off and adjust brightness from Printer Tools

Path 2

Printer Tools talks to WLED controllers using WLED's own JSON API over your local network. Power and brightness are controlled directly from Printer Tools, and a shortcut opens the full WLED web interface in your browser whenever you need effects, presets or color control.

Ofte stillede spørgsmål

Do I need a WLED account or cloud service?

No. WLED itself has no cloud or account system, Printer Tools talks directly to your controller's local IP address using WLED's JSON API.

Can I change effects or colors from Printer Tools?

Not directly yet. Printer Tools controls power and brightness; tap the "Web" shortcut to open WLED's own interface for effects, presets and color control.

Does this work with any WLED controller?

Yes, any controller running WLED firmware and reachable on your local network works, regardless of the underlying ESP8266/ESP32 hardware.

Can I control my LEDs away from home?

Yes, connect over a VPN back to your home network, WLED is only reachable on your local network, so Printer Tools needs the same network access a browser would.
